Responsibility for accepting gifts in the manner defined in standard operating procedures for accepting gifts rests with any development officer. Gift Records must be provided with appropriate documentation when processing gifts. Gift Records is responsible for verifying and monitoring all adequacy donations to ensure that standard operating procedures and all applicable procedures have been followed. 2. Titles. UAB accepts both listed and narrow-held securities. However, UAB does not accept stock options as a gift. Share/guarantee securities are issued to donors with a description of the stock, the number of shares and the transfer date to the UAB. No evaluation is displayed on the voucher. While UAB appreciates the financial support and goodwill of donors, special attention is needed to ensure that acceptance of a gift does not result in an ongoing financial commitment or other commitment on the part of the UAB, which is disproportionate to the usefulness of the gift. While donors often wish to indicate the general purpose for which a gift is offered, the UAB does not accept gifts that are too restrictive or that do not support their overall task.

The UAB does not accept a gift that results in discrimination prohibited by the UAB`s equal opportunities and harassment policy or by existing legislation. In addition, the UAB is not responsible for fundraising activities carried out by external organizations or individuals that are not sponsored by UAB and may choose to donate revenue to the UAB. Endowed Research Fund – $100,000 Income from a foundation-funded research fund is used to support research in a discipline, disease or area of interest, as required by an agreement with the donor. The research fund can be named according to the donor`s wishes. The UAB campaign was launched publicly in October 2013 with the aim of raising $1 billion. Assessments: Contributions from real estate or other assets worth $5,000 or more must be accompanied by a qualified valuation. The UAB will not provide assessment services or pay an assessment fee for real estate gifts on behalf of the donor.
